Charcot-Marie-Tooth UK (formerly known as CMT United Kingdom) has been in existence since 1986, and is the UK’s only national support group for people with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. We are a membership organisation, and currently support over 1300 paying members, plus thousands more through social media.
Our aims are to offer assistance, information and support to people with CMT, their families and medical professionals. We do this via email/telephone support, via the website and our active Facebook communities.
Our CMT Kids network works to specifically work with, and support, young people with CMT, and our Youth Development Officer organises a weekend activity event every year for teenages.
We also work to promote research into CMT, and fund research when we can. We are active partners of the Inherited Neuropathy Consortium – a worldwide network of researchers and clinicians working to find a cure or treatment for CMT.
