Published on February 28th, 2020

Rare Disease Day takes place on the last day of February each year. The main objective of Rare Disease Day is to raise awareness amongst the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives.

More than 300 million patients, families and carers make up the rare disease community worldwide with over 6,000 different diseases. Collectively, we make up the third largest community in the world.

A large number of events are planned worldwide.
